Launch Africa Ventures is a Pan-African venture capital fund focused on solving the funding gap in the Seed and pre-Series A investment landscape across Africa. Founded in 2020 by Zachariah George and Janade Du Plessis, the firm is based in Mauritius and invests in early-stage technology startups tackling key challenges on the continent. With a decade of experience in venture building, the team provides hands-on support beyond capital. The firm has participated in 35 funding rounds totaling $112.9M from February 2019 to October 2025, primarily at the Seed stage (25 rounds), followed by Venture rounds (8) and Series A (2). It emphasizes fintech (17 investments), with additional focus on travel and mobility (4), e-commerce and retail (3), and other sectors like HR and talent, AI and analytics, and edtech. Geographically, it targets Nigeria and South Africa (8 each), Kenya (6), and other markets including Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Togo, Cameroon, Ghana, Uganda, Morocco, and Tanzania.
