How Liners sources product and company data
The sources Liners uses for product, company, funding, people, news, and job data.
Data shown on Liners
A product listing can include:
- Product name, description, website, categories, features, countries, and platforms.
- Company location, size estimates, public links, and other company facts.
- Funding rounds and investors.
- Founders, executives, and other senior team members.
- Public news and open jobs.
Some products have little public information. Liners leaves a section empty when the available sources do not support a useful result.
Source types
DD Dave may help research:
- Official product and company websites.
- Product documentation and app listings.
- Company announcements and public profiles.
- Public news, job posts, funding records, and investor pages.
- Corrections from users or product owners.
Liners may use outside data services to help find or organise public business information. We do not publish provider names, contracts, or access details.
The editorial standards explain how Liners handles source limits and AI-assisted work.
Countries and African funding
Liners keeps two different country facts for each product:
- Origin country: the country the company comes from. This can be any country in the world.
- Markets: the African countries where the product operates.
The two facts are independent. A company can start in the United Kingdom and operate only in Nigeria.
A funding round counts as African funding when the company operates in at least one African market. The origin country never removes a round. A company that started outside Africa keeps its rounds on the funding page if it serves an African market.
On the funding page, the country filter shows companies that operate in that market. One round counts in each market that its company serves. For this reason, the country numbers add up to more than the number of rounds.
If Liners does not know the origin country, the field stays empty. An empty field means unknown. It does not mean African.
Checks and limits
Liners may compare more than one source, remove duplicate records, and use cautious wording when sources conflict.
Company information changes. People move jobs, funding reports may differ, and a product may change its countries or features. Liners cannot promise that every fact is complete or current.
A verified product badge does not mean Liners checked every data point. Read what verified product status means for the badge limits.
Access
Liners may show some company data to all visitors and require an account for fuller people, news, or job lists. The page tells you when sign-in is required.
Funding data may remain public where Liners has enough reliable information to show it.
Corrections and removal
Any user can use a supported edit control to suggest a correction. Product owners can also propose listing changes from the business dashboard.
People whose personal data appears in a company profile may ask Liners to correct or remove it. Send the page URL, the field at issue, and any supporting source to hello@liners.com.

Privacy
Do not send passwords, private customer records, or payment details with a correction. The Privacy Policy explains how Liners handles user and business data.
