Hands-on studies of the software built for Africa: real accounts, real transactions, real results. Published as evidence anyone can check.
Every study on this page follows the same four rules.
Where a study departs from them, it says so on its own page.
One email per report. The headline finding, the sample, and a link, nothing else.
Original studies of African software products, run by the Liners team and volunteers. We define one task before we start, run it at every provider the same way, and publish what happened — the evidence, not a review.
A field study uses the product for real: real sign-ups, real identities, real transactions, the exact route an ordinary customer would take. A virtual study works from public information — documentation, pricing pages, and sandbox flows — when running the real journey is not possible or safe.
No. Brands cannot buy into a study, cannot preview findings, and cannot have them removed. Corrections are made in public with the change noted.
Every figure is published as a count against its own sample. Where the sample is too small to carry a rate, we mark it and say so. Wherever we can, several people run the same test independently on different days before we call a result a finding.
Two ways: suggest a product, service, or experience you think we should look into, or volunteer to run study tasks. Volunteers' answers are included in the published counts, but their names stay private.
Come be a part of the Liners research process. There are two ways in:
Have a product, service, or experience you think we should look into? Send us the idea and tell us why it deserves a closer look.
Tell us which products or services you use, and we'll contact you when a relevant study comes up. Your answers are included, but your name stays private.
