1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Liners(the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. About the Platform

Liners is a directory of software products and services across Africa. The Platform allows users to discover, compare, and review software products. It also allows software makers to submit their products for listing, claim ownership of existing listings, and optionally upgrade their listing for paid listing features.

The Platform also provides business intelligence about listed companies, including company profiles, funding information, team details, news articles, and job postings. This data is sourced from third-party business data providers and publicly available information. Some data on the Platform is available to all visitors, while certain information (such as full team listings, complete news archives, and complete job postings) requires you to create an account and sign in.

Liners may use artificial intelligence to help research, organise, draft, or check content, including product descriptions, FAQs, classifications, comparisons, and company summaries. Liners remains responsible for what it publishes. AI-assisted content may contain errors and should not be used as professional advice. Read how Liners uses supervised AI agents.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Platform, you may need to create an account. Features that require an account include submitting reviews, reporting issues, and viewing full company data such as complete team listings, news archives, and job postings. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Maintain the security of your account credentials.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise harmful behaviour.

4. Product Submissions

Users may submit software products for inclusion in the directory. By submitting a product, you represent and warrant that:

• You have the right to submit the product and the information you provide is accurate.
• The product does not violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
• You grant Liners a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, modify, and distribute the submitted information on the Platform.

We reserve the right to review, edit, reject, or remove a submission at our sole discretion. Liners may use AI agents to support this work, but Liners decides what to publish. The product listing standards and submission guide explain the public rules.

5. Product Claiming and Verification

Product owners may claim a listing after Liners checks their relationship with the product through a work email or another approved contact route. An approved claim gives access to listing tools and review replies. Proposed listing changes remain subject to review. We may revoke a claim that appears false or misleading. 6. Reviews and User Content

By submitting reviews or other content on the Platform, you agree that:

• Your content is based on genuine experience and is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• You will not post content that is defamatory, abusive, fraudulent, misleading, or that violates any third-party rights.
• You grant Liners a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the Platform.

We may moderate, edit, or remove user content that violates these Terms. The community guidelines apply to all public contributions. Reviewers must also follow the guidelines for reviewers. Users must sign in to submit product reports.

7. Premium Listings and Payments

Linersoffers paid listing plans that may provide extra listing features. Paid status does not change user ratings, review decisions, comparison scores, alternatives similarity, or search relevance. A third-party payment processor handles payments. By making a purchase, you also agree to that processor's terms.

Premium listing fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time, with changes taking effect for new purchases only.

8. Advertising

The Platform may display labelled advertisements from third-party advertisers. Liners reviews ad details before publication, but we do not endorse the advertised product. Your dealings with an advertiser remain between you and that advertiser. Read how advertising works on Liners.

9. Company and Business Data

The Platform displays business data about listed companies, including company profiles, funding rounds, investor information, key personnel, news articles, and job postings. This data is sourced from third-party business intelligence providers and publicly available information.

By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Business data, including funding amounts, revenue estimates, employee counts, and personnel information, is provided for informational purposes only and may not be current, accurate, or complete.
• The display of company data, personnel information, or investor details does not constitute an endorsement of, or affiliation with, those companies, individuals, or investors.
• You will not rely on business data displayed on the Platform as the sole basis for any business, investment, or employment decision.

Companies or individuals who believe data about them on the Platform is inaccurate or should be removed may contact us at hello@liners.com. We will review and address such requests promptly.

10. External Links

The Platform contains links to third-party websites, including company websites, social media profiles, news articles, and job postings. These links may include referral attribution parameters. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party websites. Your use of third-party websites is at your own risk and subject to the terms and policies of those websites.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, code, and software, are the property of Liners or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the Platform without prior written consent.

Product names, logos, and trademarks displayed on the Platform belong to their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

12. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, other user accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Platform.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, including fake reviews or spam submissions.
• Engage in bulk or automated extraction of the Platform's catalogue, including scraping, crawling, or harvesting product listings, reviews, or business data at scale, without our prior written consent or in a way that evades rate limits or access controls.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or the servers and networks used to make the Platform available.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

Good-faith automated access is welcome within defined limits. We grant standing consent for the crawling described here to recognised crawlersonly. These are crawlers operated by established search engines and AI providers, as determined by us, that declare a stable, public user agent and obey our robots.txt. Within that category, search indexing, AI citation, and AI model-training crawlers may crawl the public catalogue, including full re-crawls, and AI assistants may retrieve individual pages to answer a user's question at ordinary, human-scale volumes.

Automated access outside those categories requires our prior written consent, regardless of any user-agent declaration or robots.txt compliance. Our robots.txt indicates which crawlers we permit to fetch pages; it is not itself consent to extract the catalogue. For programmatic or high-volume access, contact us at hello@liners.com. We may rate-limit, challenge, or block automated traffic that ignores these Terms.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
• Any information on the Platform, including AI-generated content, product descriptions, reviews, comparisons, company profiles, funding data, personnel information, news articles, or job postings, is accurate, complete, or reliable.
• Business data sourced from third-party providers, including funding amounts, revenue estimates, employee counts, and personnel details, is current or accurate.
• The Platform will meet your specific requirements or expectations.

You acknowledge that AI-generated content and third-party business data may contain inaccuracies and should be independently verified before making any decisions based on it.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Liners and its owner shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Liners, its owner, and its agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

16. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

17. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Arab Emirates.
