Guidelines for reviewers

Who can write a review?

You may review a product if you have genuine, recent, first-hand experience with it. Liners does not set a fixed age limit for that experience. Your review should still help someone understand the product as it works now.

You need a Liners account, and you may leave one review per product. You cannot review a product that you own or manage. Read how reviews are moderated for the full review flow.

Write about your own experience

Describe what you used, what worked, what did not work, and who you think the product suits. Specific examples help readers judge whether your experience matches their needs.

You may praise or criticise a product. A low rating does not break our rules. Keep the review fair, clear, and tied to your own use.

Allowed

• A clear account of the features you used.
• A fair view of the product's strengths and limits.
• A comparison with another product when you explain your own experience.
• A correction after the product changes or your view changes.

Not allowed

• A review copied from another person or website.
• A review written for someone else.
• Claims based on rumours, press coverage, or a sales demo you did not use.
• Links, affiliate offers, sales messages, or repeated promotional text.
• Threats, hate speech, personal attacks, or private personal data.

The community guidelines apply to every review.

Do not accept rewards or coaching

Do not write a review in return for money, credit, a discount, a gift, access, or any other reward. Do not let a product owner tell you what rating to give or what words to use.

Product owners may ask customers for honest reviews. They cannot ask only happy customers, demand a high rating, or make a reward depend on the review. Read the guidelines for product owners for those rules.

Review length and proof

A review must contain 50 to 1,000 characters and a rating from one to five stars.

You may upload up to five proof images. Proof can support your account of using the product. Liners may mark an approved review as verified when the reviewer submitted proof that Liners could check to an extent.

The verified mark does not prove every claim in the review. Verified reviews do not carry more weight in the product's rating.

Do not upload passwords, payment details, private messages, customer records, or other personal data.

What happens after you submit?

Liners places new reviews in Pending status while we check them. A review may then become Approved or Rejected.

You may edit an Approved or Rejected review. An edit returns the review to Pending so Liners can check the new version. You cannot edit a review while it is already Pending.

Liners may ask you for more detail if an approved review receives a valid report. You have 14 days to answer a clarification request. Liners then reviews the available information.
