Product listing standards
The basic rules a software product must meet before Liners can publish its listing.
Products Liners can list
Liners lists working software products that serve users or businesses in African markets. The company may be based in Africa or elsewhere.
A product should have:
- A clear software offering.
- A public website that explains the product.
- Enough reliable information for Liners to create a useful listing.
- A real link to at least one African market.
The website does not need to reveal every feature or price. Liners still needs enough information to identify the product and describe it without guessing.
Products Liners may reject
Liners may reject or hold:
- A duplicate of a product already listed.
- A concept, waitlist, or coming-soon page with no working product.
- A broken website or a page that does not identify the product.
- A product with misleading ownership, market, or feature claims.
- A scam, malware service, illegal product, or other harmful offering.
- A submission that uses another product's name, website, or brand.
Liners may also reject a submission when the available sources cannot support a clear listing.
African market fit
The product must serve, operate in, or have a clear use in an African market. A broad claim such as “available worldwide” may not show that fit on its own.
Liners checks public product information and other reliable sources during review. We do not publish the exact checks used to judge market fit.
Duplicate listings
Each product should have one main listing. Do not submit a second listing to change an existing page, replace reviews, or gain more visibility.
If the product already exists, an authorised representative can claim the listing. Any user can use the supported correction flow to suggest an edit.
Submitted information
Use the product's official name and homepage. The optional note should help Liners identify the product or understand its African market.
Do not include passwords, private customer data, confidential documents, or payment details.
Liners may edit listing copy for accuracy and consistency. A submission does not guarantee publication. Read how product submissions are reviewed for the current states and checks.
Product owners
You do not need to own a product to submit it. Ownership and listing access use a separate claim process.
Product owners must follow the guidelines for product owners when proposing changes, replying to reviews, or buying a paid plan or ad.
Data sources
Liners may combine the submitted name and URL with public product pages, company sources, public reporting, and user or owner corrections.
Read how Liners sources product and company data for the source types and correction route.
