Startupbootcamp is a global network of industry-focused accelerators founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneurs. It supports early-stage tech founders by providing access to mentors, partners, and investors to scale their businesses. The organization has run over 150 accelerators across 20+ countries, nurturing more than 1,600 startups. In Africa, Startupbootcamp participated in six seed-stage funding rounds from July 2015 to May 2022, investing a total of $1.8 million. The focus was primarily on fintech with four investments, alongside media & entertainment and health tech. Geographically, investments targeted South Africa (three rounds), Egypt (two rounds), and Nigeria (one round), backing companies such as Matchkit, NeQabty, Akiba, Credpal, and Moneyfellows. Co-investors in these rounds included Export Development Bank of Egypt, Alexbank, Ayady Egypt, International Finance Corporation, German Agency for International Cooperation - GIZ, and Pharos Holding.
