Cairo Angels is Egypt's first formal angel investment network, based in Cairo, Egypt. It supports early-stage startups in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa through a global network of angel investors. Established in 2012, the network convenes regular investment meetings in Cairo or London, facilitates due diligence, negotiates terms, and provides post-investment portfolio management services. Cairo Angels invests at seed and angel stages, with a focus on Egypt. It has participated in four funding rounds between May 2017 and January 2022, totaling $2.2M, primarily in EdTech (two investments), Fintech (one), and Logistics & Supply Chain (one). Backed companies include Orcas (EdTech, two rounds), Elgameya (Fintech), and Bosta (Logistics & Supply Chain), all in Egypt.
