AUC Venture Lab (V-Lab) is Egypt’s first university-based startup accelerator, hosted at the American University in Cairo’s School of Business in New Cairo, Egypt. It focuses on helping entrepreneurs launch, grow and scale innovative startups while also serving as a learning and research platform for the AUC community. In Africa, AUC Venture Lab is active as an accelerator and early stage investor, with a clear focus on Egyptian startups. According to available investment records, it has participated in at least three seed rounds between August 2020 and December 2023, all in Egypt, backing Velents in AI and analytics, Roboost in logistics and supply chain, and Elgameya in fintech. These activities indicate a concentration on technology enabled solutions at the seed stage within the Egyptian market. AUC Venture Lab has supported more than one thousand founders and hundreds of startups, and has been recognized with multiple international awards for its impact and the quality of its services in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. It leverages AUC’s network of faculty, alumni, mentors and investors to connect startups with knowledge, capital and market access, contributing to innovation, economic growth and job creation.
