Bpifrance

Bpifrance is the French public investment bank and sovereign wealth fund, serving as a one-stop shop for entrepreneurs with financing, investment, and advisory services through 50 local branches. It manages over €36 billion in assets, including direct participations in startups, SMEs, mid-caps, and large companies, as well as investments in venture capital and private equity funds. Bpifrance acts as France's innovation agency and partners with sovereign wealth funds and long-term investors for joint investments. Bpifrance engages in international investments, including in Africa, where it has participated in four funding rounds totaling $16.0 million from November 2022 to December 2024. These span Series A (two rounds), Seed (one), and Other (one) stages, focusing on sectors such as Communication & Social, Productivity & Workspace, E-commerce & Retail, and Fintech. Its geographic preferences in Africa include Senegal, Tunisia, Côte d'Ivoire, and Cameroon, with investments in companies like Lafricamobile, Cynoia, ANKA, and Ejara.
