Generation Investment Management is a sustainable investment management firm founded in 2004. It specializes in integrating sustainability analysis into investment decisions across public and private equity strategies, including Growth Equity where it invests globally in growth-stage private companies with proven technology and commercial traction run by mission-driven teams. Former Vice President Al Gore is a Founding Partner and Chairman. In Africa, Generation participated in five funding rounds totaling $404 million from December 2015 to March 2022, focusing on venture and later-stage investments in fintech and HR & talent sectors, primarily in Kenya and Nigeria. It backed M-KOPA, a pay-as-you-go fintech provider in Kenya, across three rounds, and Andela, an HR & talent platform in Nigeria, in Series D and E rounds.
