Spark Capital is a multi-stage venture capital firm based in the United States, with offices in San Francisco, New York, and Boston. Founded in 2005 by Bijan Sabet, Paul Conway, Santo Politi, and Todd Dagres, the firm manages over $12 billion in assets across early-stage and growth funds. Spark Capital invests across sectors including consumer internet, enterprise software, gaming, infrastructure, hardware, semiconductors, crypto, fintech, and AI. In Nigeria, Spark Capital participated in five funding rounds for Andela, a company providing pre-vetted global engineers and AI talent, from December 2015 to September 2021. These investments spanned Series A to Series E stages, totaling $378 million, with a focus on the HR and Talent sector. The firm co-invested alongside partners such as Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, CRE Venture Capital, and Generation Investment Management. Spark Capital's portfolio highlights include early investments in Twitter, Tumblr, and Foursquare.
