MoneyHash says Luno is using its payment infrastructure to centralise payments, launch local options faster, and recover one in four deposits.
MoneyHash says Luno is using its payment infrastructure to manage payments more centrally as it grows across markets.
Luno previously had more than 25 payment provider and local bank connections, which meant more engineering work to build, maintain, and monitor each connection.
MoneyHash says the setup reduced the engineering time spent maintaining payment integrations, reduced the time needed to launch local payment options, and helped Luno recover one in four deposits that might otherwise have been lost.
Luno, described as a global crypto and investment platform founded in Africa, worked with MoneyHash to bring its payment providers together in one place.
MoneyHash positions this as payment orchestration, meaning one layer that connects to multiple payment providers so a business does not have to build and maintain each integration separately.
MoneyHash says this lets Luno manage payments centrally, introduce local payment options faster, and improve transaction performance. It also says Luno can route transactions across available providers based on how they are performing, and try an alternative route when appropriate.
Nader Abdelrazik, Co-founder and CEO of MoneyHash, said, “Our role is to take the complexity out of managing multiple payment providers, so Luno’s teams can move faster, improve payment performance and keep their focus on building for their customers.”
Cornel Smit, Head of Payments at Luno, said, “Having MoneyHash handle our payment integrations meant our internal teams didn't have to spend capacity managing payment rails.”
As companies expand, supporting local payment options often means adding more bank and provider integrations, plus separate processes and reporting.
MoneyHash is pitching a simpler operational setup for multi-market payments, with one place to manage connections and monitor performance.
For Luno, MoneyHash says this has already shown up in measurable outcomes, including recovering one in four deposits that might otherwise have been lost, and reducing time spent maintaining payment integrations.
