QNB Egypt has opened a new branch at Al Amreya Dry Port in Alexandria to serve trade and logistics firms with trade finance and payments services.
QNB Egypt has inaugurated a new bank branch at Al Amreya Dry Port in Alexandria Governorate. The branch is set up to serve businesses working in trade and logistics.
QNB Egypt, a subsidiary of QNB Group, opened the branch to provide integrated banking services and solutions for companies operating in and around the port.
The bank said the branch will focus on international trade banking and trade finance, which are banking services that help businesses manage cross border buying and selling. The services listed include support for import and export operations, payments and collections, letters of credit, and letters of guarantee.
QNB Egypt said the branch will also serve businesses involved in maritime activities, logistics, and customs clearance.
The port spans about 146,000 square metres and represents an investment of EGP 700 million, according to the announcement. The statement said the port aims to strengthen Alexandria’s capacity to serve trade and production activities and improve connectivity between seaports, industrial areas, and distribution centres.
The announcement also said the port is part of the Ministry of Transport’s strategy to develop integrated international development and logistics corridors, and position Egypt as a regional hub for transportation, logistics, and transit trade.
Mohamed Khairat, Assistant CEO, Board Member and Chief Business Officer at QNB Egypt, said: “The opening of our branch at Al Amreya Dry Port marks another step in strengthening our presence across key economic sectors and providing integrated banking solutions that meet their evolving needs.”
Banks that place branches inside logistics hubs can speed up day to day trade processes for businesses. For importers and exporters, tools like letters of credit and letters of guarantee can reduce payment risk and help transactions move forward with clearer terms.
