Mawingu

Mawingu is a Kenyan internet service provider that delivers unlimited fixed wireless internet to homes, businesses, and institutions, mainly in rural and peri urban areas. It works by connecting your premises to nearby Mawingu radio towers using rooftop equipment and a Wi Fi router, providing always on, data uncapped connectivity over a monthly subscription.

Mawingu uses a monthly subscription model, with typical home MAX Internet plans such as up to 20 Mbps for 2,500 KES, up to 30 Mbps for 3,000 KES, and up to 40 Mbps for 4,500 KES, all with unlimited data and free installation. Business BIZ Internet plans are also available, with pricing that depends on whether you choose shared or dedicated service and any added value services.

Mawingu primarily operates in Kenya, with a focus on rural and peri urban and underserved areas across multiple counties. Some project and investment documents reference expansion into rural Tanzania, but its main commercial operations and offerings are centered in Kenya.

You can sign up for Mawingu by visiting the Mawingu website and requesting a MAX (home) or BIZ (business) connection, then providing your location so coverage and installation can be arranged. You can also contact Mawingu by phone, email, or WhatsApp to confirm availability in your area and schedule a new connection.

Mawingu is best suited for households, SMEs, larger businesses, and public institutions in Kenya that need reliable, unlimited fixed site internet, especially in rural and peri urban or underserved locations. It is particularly relevant if you want predictable monthly costs with no data caps and local support.
