Damien Guermonprez

Damien Guermonprez is an angel investor and fintech entrepreneur based in Brussels, Belgium, with deep expertise in financial services and payment systems. He is the Executive Chairman of Lemonway, a pan-European payment institution, and has spent his career creating and managing financial institutions. Earlier in his career, he led Oney Bank, the banking division of the Auchan Group, for ten years and created or managed 15 credit institutions, leasing companies, and insurance companies across Europe, Russia, and China. Guermonprez has invested in fintech companies across Africa, with a particular focus on payment solutions and financial infrastructure in Francophone markets. Between 2018 and 2021, he invested $3.4 million across four seed-stage funding rounds in fintech startups, concentrating his activity in Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon. His portfolio includes CinetPay, a payment processing platform serving Francophone Africa; Julaya, a business payments and collections platform; and PaySika, a digital payment card service. He holds an MBA from Harvard and is a graduate of ESSEC business school.
