BuyScrap Nigeria

BuyScrap Nigeria is a web-based circular economy platform for individuals and businesses in Nigeria, especially Lagos, to sell scrap metal, e-waste, and recyclable items for cash through a scheduled pickup service. It is based in Agege, Lagos.

Key capabilities include:

• Online pickup requests and scheduling: users enter an address, describe items, and choose a pickup date and time, with same-day pickup in Lagos shown as an option (subject to availability).
• Onsite verification and market-rate valuation: a representative verifies weight and pricing on location, then sends instant payment via bank transfer.
• Wide material coverage: supports many categories such as inverter and car batteries, laptops and phones, TVs and stereos, copper wires, beverage cans, iron and brass scrap, auto parts, plastics, cardboards, tires, wood, and old furniture.
• Reuse and responsible disposal services: includes a Circular Store for refurbished or repaired items, plus environmental consultancy and training and a charitable donations program to route donatable items to verified local charities.

Available on Web (buyscrap.africa, buyscrap.com.ng).

Target users include households, offices and SMEs, and industrial firms that need scrap pickup and e-waste management, plus recycling partners and industrial off-takers.

BuyScrap was started by founder Joshua, whose team won the environmental award at the King's Trust Youth Sustainable Enterprise Challenge, and it sells collected materials on to recycling companies and local buyers.
