Société Générale's African retail and business banking sites serve individuals, professionals, SMEs, and enterprises across several countries, including Benin, Ghana, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Algeria, and Tunisia, who want to open accounts, manage cards and loans, and use online and mobile banking.

Key capabilities include:

• Retail banking: current and savings accounts and packaged account bundles; Benin's site, for example, lists PACK ECO +, PACK SELECT, and PACK PRESTIGE offers, a Compte Épargne Junior savings account, and Visa cards (Classic, Premier, Platinum, Horizon)
• Business and enterprise banking: professional and corporate accounts, company cards, and cash collection tools such as TPE card payment terminals
• Remote banking: SG Connect for individual account access and MY BUSINESS for business online banking and cash management
• Financing and international operations: consumer and mortgage loans, working-capital financing, and trade-finance tools such as documentary credits and SWIFT transfers

The network has been in flux since 2023, when Société Générale began restructuring its African retail banking footprint, selling subsidiaries in Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mauritania, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Morocco, and Madagascar to pan-African and local banking groups including Vista Group, Coris Bank, AFG Holding, Saham Group, and BRED Banque Populaire. Benin's own subsidiary is mid-transition: Société Générale agreed in July 2024 to sell its 93.43% stake, together with its Togo branch, to the Beninese state, moving it into government ownership; as of the group's July 2026 half-year report, the sale is still pending, more than a year past its original early-2025 completion target. Ghana and Cameroon have also been reported as exit candidates, while Tunisia's stake was reviewed and retained.
