Lua raised $5.8 million in seed funding led by Norrsken22 to build an operating system for teams that combine employees and AI agents.
Lua has raised $5.8 million in seed funding to build software that helps companies manage work shared between people and AI agents.
The Lua seed round was led by Norrsken22. Other investors include Flourish Ventures, 20VC, P1 Ventures, Phosphor Capital, Y Combinator, and angels including Privy CEO Henri Stern.
Lua was founded by Lorcan O’Cathain and Stefan Kruger. The founders previously worked in East Africa’s fintech ecosystem, including roles at 4G Capital and Paystack.
The company says its product is a full-stack agent platform. That means it provides most of the plumbing needed to run AI agents, including infrastructure, data pipelines (how data moves and is cleaned), model orchestration (choosing and routing AI models), integrations with tools and channels, and monitoring.
Lua offers a command-line interface for developers and a natural language interface for non-technical teams. Both groups can build and manage the same agents in one workspace.
Lua launched in October 2025. It says revenue has been growing at nearly 30% week-on-week, and it reached $1 million in annual recurring revenue within its first three months.
Early customers mentioned include African startups Turaco, Tushop, Umba, and Numida. The company says it is now operating in 20 global markets, including hospitality and financial services.
Many companies are moving from testing AI tools to deploying them inside core workflows. As “agent” products spread, teams need better controls for reliability, observability (seeing what the AI did and why), and integration with existing systems.
Lua is positioning itself as the system of record for mixed human and AI teams. The new funding will be used to grow its developer community and expand its Lua Implementation Network, a partner ecosystem aimed at deploying agent-based systems across markets.
