AethexAI React SDK v1.0.0 Adds Voice Calls to React Apps

AethexAI has released the Aethex React SDK v1.0.0, a developer kit that helps teams add live voice agents into React and React Native apps.

What Happened

AethexAI published a new React SDK for adding live voice calls to web apps and mobile apps built with React Native.

The SDK ships as the @aethexai/react package on npm, which is the main registry where JavaScript developers install libraries.

At the center is a single hook, useAethexCall(). A hook is a React function that bundles logic so you can start and control a call without writing the plumbing yourself.

AethexAI says developers can either build their own call button and call UI, or use pre-built widgets. One of the widgets mentioned is the AethexVoiceOrb, which is a ready-made voice call control that can be dropped into an app.

Version 1.0.0 also adds React Native support, plus in-call controls like mute and hang up. The company also positions the SDK as “production-ready,” meaning it is meant for real user traffic, not just demos.

A notable promise is “no WebRTC to wire up.” WebRTC is the common browser technology for real-time audio and video, and it can be time-consuming to configure across browsers, devices, and networks.
