The most useful SkillConnect alternatives for booking event vendors in Nigeria are NotJustEvent, Spaccy, Celevend, Feteflex, and GoFiixit. The right pick depends on whether you care most about escrow-protected payments, AI-assisted planning, venue-first search, or booking services beyond events.
SkillConnect is a Lagos-first marketplace in Nigeria that connects event customers with creative professionals, and it operates under SkillConnect Ltd (RC 1661539). It is available on web, Android, and iOS, with a stated focus on Nigeria and a Lagos-first rollout.
People usually compare SkillConnect competitors because they want a marketplace that goes deeper in one direction: stronger vendor and venue verification, clearer escrow terms for bookings, extra planning tools like invitations or RSVP tracking, or an AI assistant to shortlist options faster. Others simply want an app that is less Lagos-centric, or a similar marketplace model they can use for non-event jobs too. None of this makes SkillConnect a poor choice; it means the market now has specialists worth comparing.
What to Compare When Choosing a SkillConnect Alternative
- Coverage in Nigeria beyond Lagos: check if the marketplace claims nationwide vendor discovery or feels city-first in practice.
- Escrow and release rules: look for platforms that explicitly protect payments and spell out when funds are released after delivery.
- Vendor and venue verification: prioritise “verified” marketplaces if you want fewer no-shows and more accountability.
- Planning workflow: if you run weddings and parties, features like invitations, RSVP tracking, and structured booking management can save time.
- Messaging and quote flow: confirm you can message providers, compare starting prices, and lock scope before paying.
- AI-assisted search: if you are short on time, AI suggestions can help you shortlist vendors or venues faster.
- Fit for non-event services: if you also need repairs or business services, consider a broader services marketplace, not only event listings.
