Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP) is a pioneering venture capital firm in the MENA region. Founded by Walid S. Hanna, who has over 20 years of experience in venture capital and new venture development, MEVP manages four regional technology-focused funds with more than $300 million in assets under management. The firm provides early and growth-stage funding to exceptional founders across various tech sectors, including e-commerce, marketplaces, healthtech, and digital media, with offices in Dubai, Beirut, Riyadh, Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Manama, and Amman. MEVP has actively invested in Africa, committing $195.5 million across five funding rounds from July 2021 to February 2023. Investments targeted Series B (three rounds), Series A (one round), and venture rounds, primarily in fintech (three investments) and health tech (two investments), with a geographic focus on Egypt (four investments) and Nigeria (one investment). Backed companies include Moneyfellows and Halan in Egypt's fintech space, Yodawy in Egypt's health tech, and Verto in Nigeria's fintech. MEVP often co-invests with partners such as P1 Ventures, Global Ventures, and CVENTURES. The firm has expanded into Sub-Saharan Africa as part of its broader portfolio of over 60 companies across MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Pakistan, and Turkey.
