Crossfin Technology Holdings (Pty) Ltd is a South Africa-based fintech investment group. It builds and invests in fintech businesses to enable growth for economies in emerging markets, particularly Africa. Crossfin Ventures, its investment platform, provides pre-seed funding to promising, scalable fintech startups in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Crossfin has backed three fintech companies in South Africa: Troygold in an angel round in April 2021, Truid in a venture round in June 2020, and Retail Capital in a venture round totaling $600 million in March 2019. Its strategic focus remains on highly scalable financial technology businesses that complement its portfolio. The group processes over 270 million card and 20 million mobile-enabled payment transactions annually, with an aggregated value exceeding R100 billion. Crossfin leverages its portfolio assets, such as Adumo, AKELO, and Sybrin, to de-risk investee businesses and accelerate growth across 13 African countries.
