GoTap is a mobile payment and digital wallet app from TapprX Limited, a Lagos-based fintech founded by Ebuka Okoroafor, letting Nigerians pay and get paid using a smartphone.

Key capabilities include:

• QR code payments: scan a merchant or contact's QR code, see the recipient's name instantly, enter an amount, review, and pay.
• Tap-to-pay (NFC): bring two supported Android phones together to pay instantly; iPhone currently supports QR and bank transfer only, not NFC Tap.
• Near Payments: see nearby users by name and distance and pay without an account number, with an on/off toggle for your own visibility.
• AI-assisted payments ("Prompt Banking"): type or say a natural-language instruction (e.g. "Send ₦3,500 to Tobi for lunch") and the app prepares the payment for review and confirmation — it never sends money on its own.
• Hardware-free merchant POS (SoftPOS): turn an NFC-enabled Android phone into a payment terminal after KYC, accept NFC, QR, or bank-transfer payments, and get instant wallet settlement plus a Sales Dashboard tracking revenue, peak hours, and top-performing items.
• Staff sub-accounts for merchants to let employees collect payments without access to the main business wallet.
• Personal spending analytics that automatically track where your money goes each month.
• Security: PIN and biometric (fingerprint/Face ID) authentication with banking-grade encryption.

Merchant transactions carry a transparent, capped 0.5% fee with no hidden charges. It operates in partnership with licensed financial institutions and states it adheres to CBN guidelines on contactless payments and Nigeria's Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).

Available on Android, iOS, and Web, with a referral program rewarding users for inviting friends.
