Dis-Chem is a South African retail pharmacy group, both online and in-store, selling medication, health care products, and everyday wellness essentials, alongside a growing set of insurance and health-financing products under Dis-Chem Life. Founded in 1978 by pharmacists Ivan and Lynette Saltzman, the company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 2016 (ticker DCP), raising roughly R4.4 billion in what was then the JSE's second-largest IPO, and now operates over 300 stores across South Africa, with additional stores in Namibia and Botswana.
