Daviva

Daviva is an online microloan service for Kenyan residents that provides short term personal loans sent directly to your M-PESA account. You apply through the website (and, when available, the Android app), receive a quick eligibility decision, then repay via M-PESA Paybill or through your online account over 61 to 122 days for new customers and up to 182 days for loyal customers.

Daviva charges interest on each loan and publishes example pricing and APR information. For instance, one example given is a Ksh 10,000 loan over 61 days with a total repayment of Ksh 25,250, and the service states a representative maximum APR of 912.5% for new customers, with the exact cost shown to you before you confirm your loan.

Daviva operates in Kenya and serves Kenyan residents with active M-PESA accounts. You must be a Kenyan resident aged 18 or older to qualify.

To sign up, you create an account on the Daviva website using your M-PESA registered phone number and personal details, then complete the loan application form online. Once your account is set up, you can choose your loan amount and repayment term, submit the application, and receive a decision within minutes.

Daviva has an Android mobile app listed on Google Play, but a public notice states that currently all services are accessible only via the official website and that there is no active mobile app. You should therefore rely on daviva.ke for applying, managing, and repaying your loans.
