Cherehani Labs

Cherehani Labs is a solar-powered, containerized veterinary lab network and web-based certificate system for rural smallholder livestock farmers in Kenya, focused on earlier disease detection and verified animal health records.

Key capabilities include:

• AI-supported diagnostics for livestock blood and milk sample analysis, with results validated by qualified lab technicians and veterinary doctors based in local labs
• Digital health certificates with online verification to help stakeholders confirm animal health status (certificate verification available via cherehanilabs.net and thibitishacert.com)
• Generative AI recommendations that provide tailored medical and dietary guidance alongside lab results for veterinary officers
• Vaccine distribution support designed to maintain cold chain integrity to last-mile farming communities

Available on Web (including certificate login and verification portals).

Target users include rural smallholder livestock farmers, particularly dairy farmers, plus veterinary officers and other actors in the livestock value chain who need verifiable animal health documentation.

Notable in the Kenyan market context, the service operates in rural areas where access to veterinary labs is limited, and it is regulated by the Kenya Veterinary Board with laboratories managed by licensed veterinary surgeons. The organisation reports supporting 120,000 farmers and reducing distance to a vet lab to under 50 km for over 0.5 million farmers.
