Built is an all-in-one finance and accounting platform for SMEs across Africa, bringing invoicing, payments, payroll, accounting, and reporting into a single system.

Key capabilities include:

• Unlimited invoicing to create and share professional invoices.
• Payments and virtual accounts, issued via partner licensed banks and mobile money operators (Built itself is not a bank).
• POS and stock management for retail businesses to sell and track inventory.
• Payroll, for managing staff pay across a business.
• Accounting, budgeting, and reporting, including CFO AI, which turns raw finance data into management reports.

Available on Web, Android, and iOS, with Developer Docs and an API reference for programmatic access.

Founded in 2018 in Karaga, Ghana by Edward Neequaye, Built began by training young people to deliver bookkeeping services to local SMEs before growing into its current SaaS platform, now also led by co-founders Mary-Anne Aikins (CFO) and Yusif Katulie (CTO). It has been backed by Google for Startups, the Wise Guys SaaS-Africa accelerator, and investors including Consonance Investment Managers, and reports having impacted 5,000+ small businesses in Ghana alone, helping mobilize $480,000 in credit and generate $2.5 million in incremental revenue for users.

Built operates localized country sites across 14 African markets, including Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Rwanda, Botswana, Tanzania, Cote d'Ivoire, Cameroon, and Senegal, with dedicated phone support in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Kenya, and Nigeria.

It targets small and medium-sized businesses, including startups and business support institutions such as accelerators and hubs, backed by 24/7 monitoring, bank-level encryption, auto backups, and Data Protection Commission registration (DP19100003095B).
