ShigaAbiola Shogbeni is founder and CEO of Shiga (since 2021), which builds onchain financial infrastructure for emerging markets, starting with Africa, through ENTA, a self-custodial Bitcoin and stablecoin account, and Pulse, settlement rails for platforms. Earlier, Shogbeni spent nearly a decade in investment banking as an analyst and project manager, with roles at HSBC, Barclays, Santander and RBC Capital Markets.
Abiola started in banking: a summer accounts payable role at JLT Group in 2010, then HSBC Global Banking and Markets' graduate management trainee scheme from 2012.
Abiola moved through regulatory and front-office analyst jobs at Barclays, BNY Mellon and Santander, then project and business analyst roles at Societe Generale CIB and RBC Capital Markets.
In January 2021 Abiola founded Shiga Digital Holdings as founder, managing director and CEO. The role at RBC Capital Markets ran until January 2022.
Shiga builds onchain financial infrastructure for emerging markets, starting with Africa: ENTA, a self-custodial account for Bitcoin and stablecoins, and Pulse, rails for platforms to settle and move money onchain. Abiola runs the company from the UK.
