Selar has launched a new Refer & Earn program. It pays existing users for bringing in new creators and affiliates who subscribe to paid plans. Referred users get a small discount, and referrers earn ongoing commission while subscriptions stay active.
On June 24, 2026, Selar announced its Refer & Earn program for creators and affiliates.
The setup is simple. Eligible users get a unique referral code. When a new user signs up with that code and subscribes to an eligible Selar plan, the new user gets 5% off their subscription.
The referrer earns 10% commission on every successful subscription payment made by that referred user going forward. Selar also added an extra layer for referrals that turn into affiliates. If the referred user later pays for Selar’s affiliate subscription, the original referrer earns 20% of that annual affiliate subscription.
There are a few rules that affect earnings. Each Selar account can only redeem one referral code in its lifetime, so a user cannot switch codes later. Commissions are tied to active subscriptions, meaning payouts pause if the referred user’s plan expires and resumes if they renew.
Selar says commissions are credited to the user’s Selar wallet immediately after subscription completion. There is no minimum payout threshold. Refunds, reversals, or chargebacks on a referred subscription also reverse the commission, and Selar may deduct it from the referrer’s wallet balance.
Referral programs are a common growth lever for subscription businesses, especially SaaS (software sold on a monthly or yearly plan). For creator economy platforms, this can turn power users and marketers into a sales channel, while keeping acquisition costs lower than paid ads.
For creators and affiliates, the main value is recurring income tied to renewals, not a one-time reward. But the fine print matters. If you downgrade to a free plan or your subscription expires, you stop earning commissions on new referral conversions until you upgrade again.
Selar also limits referral code editing to creators on the Turbo plan and above. If a user changes their code, the old one stops working immediately, which can affect links already shared in newsletters, bios, or old campaigns.
