Selar has appointed Victoire Mahounou as its first Creator Ambassador as it expands into Francophone Africa with French support and local currency payouts.
Selar has appointed Victoire Mahounou as its first Creator Ambassador, according to a blog post published on May 20, 2026. The company is positioning the role around its push into Francophone Africa.
Selar said creators in Benin Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Cameroon can now access the product in French. They can also receive payments in their local currency, which reduces friction for creators who sell digital products, courses, and other online content.
A creator ambassador is typically a public-facing partner who helps with community building, education, and local outreach. In this case, Selar is betting that a trusted creator educator can help it connect faster with French-speaking creators than marketing alone.
Selar described Mahounou as a lifestyle creator and creator educator. It said she has used her platform to grow her own visibility and income, and to teach other creators how to do the same.
On Liners, Selar is listed as Selar.
Francophone Africa is attracting more creator economy tools, but language, payments, and trust still slow adoption. Adding French support is the product step. Adding a creator ambassador is the go-to-market step, which is how a company reaches users through local voices and communities.
For creators, “receive payments in local currency” matters because it can mean fewer conversions, lower transfer fees, and simpler pricing. For Selar, it can widen its market beyond Anglophone hubs and make it easier to onboard creators at scale.
Selar also used the announcement to underline its 10-year history working with creators across the continent. The company hinted that more updates are coming as it builds out this next phase of growth.
