In practice, the flow changes from โproduct to cart to checkout to paymentโ to โproduct to buy nowโ. Peach Payments says fewer steps can reduce cart abandonment, especially on mobile where typing card and address details is slow.
The feature supports Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. These are digital wallets, meaning payment details are stored on a phone and a user confirms with Face ID, fingerprint, or a passcode.
Peach Payments also pointed to checkout friction as a key driver of lost sales. It cited the 2025 World Wide Worx Online Retail Report, which said 37% of retailers name checkout friction as the leading cause of cart abandonment.
African e-commerce brands and online retailers are spending heavily to get users to product pages via ads, social media, and search. If the checkout experience is slow, that spend is wasted.
