Individuals find the right products. Businesses reach the right audience. One platform, free for both.
Pay@ has launched Yap, a white-label payments platform for South African software and platforms to add invoicing, pay links, reconciliation, and reporting.
Pay@ has announced Yap, a white-label payments Platform-as-a-Service for South African software providers, business networks, and service platforms.
Pay@ Yap is a way for platform owners to add payments inside their own products without building payments infrastructure from scratch. White-label means the end user sees the platform owner’s branding, not the underlying provider.
Pay@ says Yap supports payment requests (sending a pay link), invoice generation, multiple payment methods, reconciliation, settlement, fee management, and reporting. Reconciliation is the matching step that confirms which customer payments map to which invoices. Settlement is the final movement of funds into the business’s account.
The company positions Yap for businesses planning for peak collection periods, including end-of-year billing and the busy season that follows.
According to the release, Yap runs on the same underlying “collections engine” used by Pay@ products, including Pay@Go, its standalone electronic bill presentment and payment tool for small businesses. With Yap, the idea is that one platform can offer these capabilities to its own customers at scale.
Integration is done through an API, which is a documented way for two systems to talk to each other. Pay@ says a sandbox, which is a safe test environment, can be set up within 48 hours.
For South African SaaS platforms, ERPs, membership organisations, and marketplaces, payments can be a sticky feature. Customers often want to create an invoice, send a link, and get paid inside the same workflow they already use.
Building that in-house usually means dealing with bank connections, payment rails, security, compliance, and operational support. A hosted PaaS approach shifts much of that work to the payments provider, while the platform owner focuses on user experience and distribution.
If Yap delivers on fast onboarding and reliable reconciliation, it could help more non-fintech platforms offer embedded payments, and earn revenue from fees, without becoming full payments companies.
