Ojimah has expanded its Africa Finder safari directory to 36 countries, adding more operators and lodges plus new discovery tools like popular destinations.
Ojimah has expanded its Africa Finder directory, a searchable catalog for planning African safaris. In practical terms, it is a directory that helps travelers find and compare safari operators and places to stay in one place.
The company says Africa Finder now covers 36 countries. It also reports 309 operators and 81 lodges listed, alongside curated “featured” placements for selected operators and stays.
On the product side, Ojimah has added new browsing tools to make discovery easier. These include a “Popular Safari Destinations” section, plus region-based navigation across East Africa, Southern Africa, West Africa, North Africa, Central Africa, and Indian Ocean islands.
The site also highlights an “AI Trip Matcher”, which asks users to describe their ideal safari and then suggests an operator and a lodge. AI matching here means software that tries to pair your preferences with listings, similar to how streaming apps recommend content.
Safari planning is fragmented. Travelers often jump between social media, agents, lodge websites, and review platforms. A structured directory with filters and regional browsing can reduce that search time, especially for international visitors and diaspora travelers.
For local operators and independent lodges, broader country coverage can mean more visibility without building their own marketing stack. If Ojimah’s sponsored and featured placements gain traction, the directory could also become an acquisition channel, meaning a source of new customer inquiries.
The bigger test will be data quality. Directories win when listings stay updated, verification is meaningful, and reviews reflect real trips. If Ojimah can keep operator and lodge information current across 36 countries, Africa Finder could become a useful layer in Africa’s online travel discovery market.
