QNB Egypt arranged long-term financing for AASTMT’s new international school campus in Amreya, Alexandria, covering about 71% of project needs.
QNB Egypt arranged a long-term financing facility for AASTMT to build a new international school campus in Amreya, Alexandria. The bank will finance about 71% of the project.
QNB Egypt said it has arranged long-term financing for the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, known as AASTMT. The funding supports a new international school campus in Amreya, Alexandria.
The project is AASTMT’s move into pre-university education, which covers schooling before university. The campus is planned to serve both British and American education systems, spanning Kindergarten through Senior School.
QNB Egypt will finance around 71% of the project’s total financing requirements. The plan includes building two academic buildings with 150 classrooms. The campus is designed for an eventual capacity of about 3,000 students.
AASTMT will provide laboratories, education facilities, and supporting infrastructure. The academy said the campus will include technology and artificial intelligence tools, meaning software that can automate tasks or support learning using data, similar to smart tutoring and school operations systems.
QNB Egypt also highlighted its long-running relationship with AASTMT, dating back to 1984. Executives from both organisations framed the deal as part of broader investment in priority sectors in Egypt.
Education real estate projects like this one typically need patient capital, which is financing structured for long payback periods. A long-term facility can help institutions build and equip campuses without relying only on upfront cash.
For Egypt’s private and international education market, the announcement signals continued capacity expansion in Alexandria, not just Cairo. It also shows how commercial banks are positioning themselves as partners for large social infrastructure projects, including schools, not only for corporate and trade finance.
If the campus delivers on its tech-enabled learning plans, it could increase demand for local suppliers of school operations software, digital learning tools, and campus connectivity over time.
