Yas Fiber has launched high-speed fibre internet in Dodoma, starting in four areas and adding free mobile data and voice bundles with home packages.
Yas Fiber is expanding high-speed fibre internet in Dodoma.
The rollout starts in Ilazo, Ipagala, Swaswa, and Mjini Kati.
Customers also get mobile data and voice minutes bundled with home internet plans.
Yas Fiber has launched its fibre broadband service in Dodoma as the city attracts more businesses, institutions, and new housing.
Fibre internet uses cables made of glass to carry data as light, which is usually faster and more stable than older copper lines or congested wireless links.
At launch, the service is available in four areas, Ilazo, Ipagala, Swaswa, and Mjini Kati. The company said it is targeting households, businesses, and institutions that depend on online learning, remote work, digital commerce, cloud services, and other internet-based tools.
Dodoma District Commissioner Jabir Shekimweri said investment in digital infrastructure is important as the capital grows. He also said better connectivity can help young people and entrepreneurs access education, information, markets, and digital services.
Yas Fiber CEO Maxime Woimant said the goal is to support Dodoma’s economic and social development by improving the underlying connectivity.
For startups and SMEs, reliable fixed broadband can reduce downtime and make it easier to run online sales, customer support, and cloud software, meaning business tools that run on remote servers instead of a local computer.
The mobile bundle is also a practical add-on. Yas Fiber said it will include between 5GB and 30GB of mobile data and 50 to 350 all-network voice minutes, depending on the fibre package, at no extra cost.
This kind of fixed and mobile bundling can help users stay connected when power or last-mile issues disrupt home routers.
Yas Fiber said it plans to extend coverage to more parts of Dodoma as demand grows, as part of its broader strategy tied to Tanzania’s digital transformation.
