MTN launched an AI-enabled Job Board inside MTN Skills Academy, linking learning, job matching, and application tracking for youth across 11 African markets.
MTN has added an AI-enabled Job Board feature to the MTN Skills Academy. The goal is to help learners find jobs and understand what skills they still need.
The Job Board goes beyond standard job sites that mainly list vacancies. It matches roles to a learner’s profile and flags gaps between their current skills and what an employer asks for. AI here means software that recommends options based on data, similar to how streaming apps suggest what to watch.
Learners can search and filter vacancies by location and career goals. They can save roles, apply, and track progress through stages like application, interview, and offer. If a learner is missing a requirement, the platform recommends free courses from the Skills Academy.
MTN says the Skills Academy, launched in 2022, offers training in digital literacy, coding, data analytics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and other in-demand areas. The company reports nearly 526,000 enrolments and 192,000 course completions across the 11 markets, plus 1,122 specialisations completed.
The academy also includes accessibility-by-design features. These are product choices that make the platform easier to use for people with visual, cognitive, mobility, neurological, and age-related needs.
Africa has a large youth population, but many young people still struggle to connect training to real hiring demand. MTN is positioning this product as a bridge between skills development and employment outcomes.
That link could become more important as more roles require digital skills. The International Finance Corporation has estimated that over 230 million jobs in sub-Saharan Africa will require digital skills by 2030.
For employers, tools that surface candidates who are actively learning and can show progress may reduce hiring friction. For learners, a clearer path from course to job can make online training feel less abstract and more tied to income.
