King Price Insurance has renewed its Betway SA20 partnership for multiple years, staying on as the league’s Proud Insurance Partner for Season 5 and beyond.
King Price Insurance has renewed its Betway SA20 partnership for multiple years, extending a sponsorship that started last season. The deal keeps King Price in place as the league’s official insurance partner.
As part of the renewal, King Price Insurance will continue to “own” the Umpire Review and DRS moments inside stadiums. DRS is the Decision Review System, a technology-assisted process that lets teams challenge an umpire’s call, like using instant replay with tracking tools. King Price will also keep its branding on the umpire walk-out that opens each match.
Betway SA20 league commissioner Graeme Smith said the sponsorship helped bring more attention to match officials and made review moments more visible to fans. King Price’s marketing team said the first season helped the brand connect with cricket audiences through in-stadium activations.
The renewal comes as the league builds toward its fifth season. The opening match is scheduled for 17 January 2027 at St George’s Park, between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Pretoria Capitals.
Separately, the league and its teams are also running an “R50 Frenzy” ticket promotion during a pre-sale window. General ticket sales are set to open on 5 November 2026.
Sports sponsorships are a major channel for customer acquisition in financial services, including insurance. For King Price, staying visible in high-attendance T20 matches helps maintain brand recall and supports distribution, especially when paired with fan engagement and on-site marketing.
For Betway SA20, multi-year renewals reduce revenue uncertainty ahead of each season and give partners time to build repeatable matchday campaigns. It also signals that sponsors see value in the league’s audience and in-stadium experience, not just TV exposure.
