Housing Finance Bank and Interswitch partnered to expand agent banking in Uganda using more than 23,000 Quickteller agent touchpoints.
Housing Finance Bank has partnered with Interswitch to expand agent banking services across Uganda. The bank says customers can use more than 23,000 Quickteller agent locations for basic banking tasks.
Housing Finance Bank said the partnership will let customers make cash deposits, withdraw cash using cards, and check account balances through Quickteller agents.
Agent banking means using third party outlets, like shops acting as agents, to provide basic banking services closer to where customers live or work.
The announcement said the rollout will use more than 23,000 Quickteller agent touchpoints across Uganda.
The partnership was launched in Kampala on November 4, 2026.
For Housing Finance Bank, the deal increases the number of places where customers can access services without going to a bank branch.
For customers, the focus is on three everyday transactions, cash deposits, card based withdrawals, and balance inquiries. These are often the most frequent reasons people visit a branch or ATM.
For Interswitch, it extends the use of Quickteller agents as a distribution network for bank services, using an existing agent footprint rather than building new locations.
