Hollywoodbets has added weekly prizes to its Punters’ Challenge, with a new King of the Week format starting August 31, 2026.
Hollywoodbets has introduced a new “King of the Week” competition inside its Punters’ Challenge, adding weekly prizes on top of existing daily rewards. The update starts on August 31, 2026, and the company says it will run until further notice.
The weekly format uses two leaderboards, “Most Points” and “Most Winners”. A leaderboard is a ranking table that shows who is ahead based on a scoring rule, similar to a sports log.
To qualify for weekly prizes, users must make selections for at least two weekday race meetings, submit selections for all weekend race meetings, and spend at least R150 on the betslip across the week.
Each leaderboard comes with a R10,000 prize pool. For “Most Points”, Hollywoodbets will share R10,000 among the top 40 finishers, with R4,000 for first place and smaller amounts down to R75 for positions 11 to 40. For “Most Winners”, the prize pool is also R10,000, but users must hit a 40% winning strike rate, which means at least 4 winners out of every 10 tips.
Weekly prizes can increase repeat participation, because users have a longer window to recover from a bad day and still compete. It also pushes higher weekly staking through the R150 minimum spend requirement.
For the betting and sports gaming market in South Africa, this is another example of operators using leaderboard mechanics, points systems, and tiered rewards to keep customers active beyond single events.
