GoTyme Bank has launched Send Money Abroad in its app, letting users send money to 170+ countries in 8 currencies with transparent fees and tracking.
GoTyme Bank has rolled out a new feature called Send Money Abroad, letting customers send money internationally from inside its mobile banking app.
The service is powered by Wise, a cross-border payments provider that helps apps move money between countries and currencies. GoTyme says this setup supports transfers to more than 170 countries and territories.
Users can send in eight currencies, AUD, CNY, GBP, EUR, JPY, KRW, SGD, and USD. GoTyme says customers will see the โmid-marketโ exchange rate, which is the rate you typically see on Google and Reuters, not a bank rate with extra markup.
The bank also says the app will show the exact amount the recipient will receive. Customers can track the transfer from the moment it is sent until it is delivered.
GoTyme added that users do not need to open a separate USD account to use the feature. It also said foreign nationals living in the Philippines can access the service and open an account digitally.
International transfers are a common pain point for retail customers because fees can be hard to understand and exchange rates often include hidden margins. Clear pricing and tracking can reduce failed transfers and improve trust.
For digital banks, adding cross-border money movement is also a retention play. If users can handle local banking and remittances in one app, they have fewer reasons to keep balances elsewhere.
For African fintech operators watching global peers, this launch is another example of how partnerships with specialist rails like Wise can speed up product expansion without building every corridor in-house.
