Fluna Academy is a new learning hub for African SMEs, with practical guides to boost agri-exports, find buyers, and run compliant cross-border trade.
Fluna announced Fluna Academy, an online learning hub aimed at small and medium-sized businesses that want to grow agri-exports. SMEs, which are smaller businesses that often have limited staff and capital, make up a large share of Africa’s export supply chain but can struggle with global trade requirements.
From Fluna’s website, the company positions itself as a trade marketplace that helps high-growth SMEs connect with global buyers. A marketplace here means a platform that matches buyers and suppliers and supports transactions.
Fluna also highlights trade support features such as flexible payment terms and quality control. Payment terms like EXW, FCA, FOB, and CIF are common shipping and risk agreements that define who pays for transport and when ownership changes hands. Quality control refers to checks on product origin and condition before loading.
The company says its platform has onboarded 500+ businesses and enabled over $30 million in trade across more than 10 countries. It also lists example shipments like coffee from Uganda to Italy, soya beans from Ghana to Pakistan, and avocados from Kenya to the Netherlands.
For many African exporters, the hard part is not growing the crop, it is meeting buyer requirements. These include documentation, product grading, inspections, logistics planning, and compliance with import rules.
An academy format can reduce trial and error by giving SMEs clear playbooks for cross-border trade. If the content is practical and current, it can help exporters avoid rejected shipments, delayed payments, and disputes over specifications.
For Fluna, the academy is also a way to support marketplace growth. Better-prepared suppliers can improve reliability for buyers and increase completed transactions on the platform.
