Flick has launched USD Pay by Bank collections, letting merchants collect US dollar payments via bank transfer using open banking connections and real-time settlement.
Flick says it has launched USD Pay by Bank collections. The product lets merchants collect US dollar payments through “Pay by Bank”, meaning customers pay directly from a bank account instead of using a card.
Flick positions this as part of its open banking stack. Open banking is a way for financial apps to connect to bank accounts through secure APIs, which are software pipes that move data and payment instructions between systems.
On its website, Flick says it offers a single connection for financial data, identity, global accounts or IBANs (international bank account numbers), and multi-currency payments. It also lists related products including global collections across pay by bank, transfers, card, and mobile money, plus global payouts to over 170 countries.
The company also highlights real-time settlement, which means the merchant receives funds the same day in supported markets. Flick says this works in 40+ countries and currencies.
For African businesses that sell globally, collecting USD can be slow and expensive when it relies on card rails or manual bank transfer processes. Pay by Bank can reduce failed payments because it routes the transaction through a customer’s bank flow, not through card approvals.
This launch also signals where payment infrastructure is heading. More fintech infrastructure providers are bundling payments, KYC (know your customer checks), and financial data in one API, so platforms can launch cross-border collection and payout features without building direct bank integrations in every market.
For developers, Flick is also pushing an API-first pitch, plus a widget option, which is a pre-built checkout flow that reduces engineering work for teams that want to ship faster.
