ETAP Expands Partnerships with AutoCheck, Polaris, Autofast

ETAP has updated its website to show new partners, including AutoCheck, Polaris, and Autofast, widening its distribution for car insurance in Nigeria.

In Short

  • ETAP has expanded its visible partnership network.
  • Its website now lists AutoCheck, Polaris, and Autofast as trusted partners.
  • The move points to a wider distribution push for digital car insurance in Nigeria.

What Happened

ETAP, the Nigerian digital car insurance provider, has updated its official website to reflect a broader partnership network. The “Trusted by” section now includes Autochek, Polaris, and Autofast.

The update suggests ETAP is deepening ties with players that can bring more vehicle owners and fleet operators into its insurance funnel. AutoCheck is known for vehicle inspections and car marketplace services, which can help insurers reach buyers at the point of purchase. Polaris is a Nigerian bank, and bank channels often support insurance distribution through referrals and embedded offers. Autofast is positioned around car servicing, which can also be a strong distribution point for motor insurance.

ETAP’s site also continues to highlight its digital onboarding, including buying cover using a vehicle plate number, monthly payment options, and claims for third party and comprehensive policies. Third party insurance covers damage you cause to other people’s property, while comprehensive insurance covers a wider range, including damage to your own car.

The company also states it is regulated by NAICOM, Nigeria’s insurance regulator.

Why It Matters

Partnerships like these can lower customer acquisition costs for insurers, because they plug insurance into existing journeys like buying, servicing, or financing a car. That matters in Nigeria’s motor insurance market, where adoption remains uneven and many drivers only buy the minimum required cover.

For customers, more distribution channels can mean easier access to quotes, payment plans, and claims support. For ETAP, the expanded partner list signals continued focus on embedded insurance, which is when insurance is sold inside another product or service, like a car marketplace or bank app.
