Citri&Co and ORTH announced a partnership to use agricultural AI in daily fruit production decisions after a pilot at Safresco in Peru.
Citri&Co has partnered with ORTH to bring agricultural AI into day-to-day fruit production decisions. The companies said the agreement follows a pilot at Citri&Co’s Peruvian subsidiary, Safresco.
Citri&Co and ORTH said the partnership will put AI into the daily workflows of agronomic teams. Agronomy is the science and practice of managing crops in the field.
Carlos Blanc, CEO of Citri&Co, said the goal is to apply agronomic expertise “field by field, season by season, decision by decision.” He said ORTH gives teams more insight “from field conditions to historical performance,” and helps them turn that information into “timely, targeted action.”
Citri&Co said it operates at scale, with more than 33,000 hectares in production. It also said it supplies over one million tonnes of fresh fruit annually to more than 70 countries.
ORTH said its mission is “giving the land a voice.” The platform combines “field signals, historical operational memory, and agronomic judgment in one place,” linking current conditions with past performance to guide daily decisions.
The companies said this makes it easier for agronomists to access knowledge that previously required piecing together records. ORTH is an AI platform powered by Aydi Technologies.
Citri&Co said using ORTH can expand teams’ capacity to analyse more information, spot emerging issues earlier, and act with greater precision.
The companies also said better decisions about water, nutrients, and crop protection can improve resource efficiency, protect fruit quality, and reduce losses. They added that this supports a more reliable supply of nutritious food across international markets.
They framed the deal as part of agricultural AI becoming a standard part of how major producers run their businesses, with learnings from one farm informing decisions across the wider operation.
