CANAL+ appoints Nathalie Folloroux as Head of Unscripted Content for CANAL+ France, while she keeps oversight of the group’s unscripted slate.
CANAL+ has appointed Nathalie Folloroux as Head of Unscripted Content for CANAL+ France. She will also continue coordinating unscripted programmes across the wider group.
CANAL+ announced the appointment on 30 September 2026.
Folloroux was previously Senior Vice-President of CANAL+ Channels Africa. Her new role expands her remit to include unscripted content in France, while keeping her group-wide coordination mandate.
Unscripted content is programming that is not based on a scripted storyline, such as reality TV, game shows, talent competitions, documentaries, and studio entertainment.
In the new position, she will oversee TV programmes for France and lead a dedicated team. She will work within the programmes and channels department led by Jean-Marc Juramie, Deputy CEO of CANAL+ France in charge of Programmes and Channels.
CANAL+ said the goal is to speed up how it finds, develops, and rolls out new entertainment formats across its different markets.
For African media and entertainment operators, the move suggests closer alignment between CANAL+’s Africa channels business and its France-based commissioning teams.
When a senior executive with Africa oversight takes on France responsibilities, it can affect how formats are adapted and scaled. That includes which reality and entertainment formats get tested in one market and then replicated across others.
It also points to a strategy that treats unscripted programming as a reusable product. In TV terms, a “format” is the repeatable blueprint of a show, like the rules, structure, and production playbook.
CANAL+ has been expanding its footprint in African pay TV and content rights. Stronger coordination of unscripted commissioning could shape future local productions, co-productions, and the types of shows that get budget priority.
For creators and production companies, leadership changes like this often signal what kinds of pitches may resonate. Expect more focus on scalable formats, cost control, and quicker rollout across multiple countries.
