Accrue says it has an agreement with Helicarrier to move the Buycoins Basic user base onto Accrue, with Helicarrier becoming a shareholder.
Accrue has signed an agreement with Helicarrier to transition the Buycoins Basic user base to Accrue. The companies say the work has been underway for several weeks.
On August 25, 2026, Accrue publicly announced a collaboration with Helicarrier to move Buycoins Basic users onto Accrue.
Buycoins Basic is the entry-level version of Buycoins, a crypto app used for buying and selling digital assets. The announcement did not share migration timelines, user counts, or whether any features will change during the move.
Accrue said Helicarrier will become a “significant shareholder” as part of the deal. In simple terms, Helicarrier will own a meaningful stake in Accrue, which ties its returns to how well the transition and the business perform.
Accrue’s co-founders, Clinton Mbah and Adesuwa, also said they previously worked at Helicarrier. They worked on products including Buycoins, Sendcash, and Sendcash Pay, and said the operating culture and product approach carried into Accrue.
Accrue added that “nothing about Accrue changes” for existing users. The company said it will keep focusing on being a simple onboarding path into crypto, with fast deposits and withdrawals, good user experience, and responsive customer support.
User migrations are hard, especially in crypto, where customers care about access, withdrawals, and support speed. A planned transition can reduce downtime and prevent users from being forced into unfamiliar tools overnight.
The equity angle also matters. If Helicarrier is taking a significant stake, it suggests this is more than a referral agreement. It is a tighter partnership that could align incentives around product quality, compliance, and long-term retention.
For the Nigerian crypto market, this is another sign that consumer crypto apps are consolidating around fewer, stronger products. Distribution, trust, and support operations are becoming as important as trading features.
