Jointly owned by Knife Capital and Thinkroom Limited, it assists high-growth, innovation-driven companies with essential business tools, expert networks, mentors, and investors to scale globally. Grindstone South Africa serves as its pioneering accelerator, provided free to qualifying participants without upfront equity in most cases. From August 2020 to January 2023, Grindstone participated in four funding rounds, focusing exclusively on South African startups. It invested at the seed stage in three companies and one venture round, targeting health tech (two investments), edtech (one), and fintech (one).
