What Happened

Yango has launched Kids Mode for Yasmina, a voice assistant that works through audio instead of screens. The feature is designed to make family use safer and easier to manage.

Kids Mode changes how Yasmina answers children. It uses simpler language and a warmer tone, and it blocks some types of content to reduce the risk of kids hearing unsuitable audio.

For parents, Yango added visibility tools. They can view how long the device was used and what audio content was played. This kind of “listening history” is similar to a watch history on a video app, but for audio.

The update also adds remote reminders. That lets parents set timed prompts from their phone, for example reminders for homework, bedtime, or chores.

On the child side, Kids Mode includes simple games like guessing games and word chains. It also bundles kid-focused content like nursery rhymes, bedtime stories, and children’s songs. Yango says Kids Mode includes Safe Search for children, meaning the search results are filtered to be more age-appropriate.

Parents can enable and manage Kids Mode via the Yango app. Yango says the feature is intended for children under parental supervision.

Why It Matters

Voice assistants are increasingly used as shared household devices. That creates a safety and trust problem, especially when children are the main users.

By adding content limits, Safe Search, and clear parental monitoring, Yango is aligning Yasmina with the controls families already expect from streaming and social apps.
