Valu has partnered with Alshaya Group to add interest-free BNPL instalment payments at H&M, Bath & Body Works, American Eagle, and Victoria’s Secret in Egypt.
Valu and Alshaya Group are partnering in Egypt to roll out flexible, interest-free instalment payments across selected Alshaya retail brands. The option will be available online and in stores.
Valu said it has signed a strategic partnership with Alshaya Group to expand access to flexible payment plans in Egypt.
Customers shopping at participating Alshaya brands will be able to split purchases into interest-free instalments. This model is often called BNPL, short for buy now, pay later, which means you get the product now and pay in smaller amounts over time.
The initial list of participating retailers includes H&M, Bath & Body Works, American Eagle, and Victoria’s Secret. Valu said the service is planned for both e-commerce checkouts and in-store point of sale, which is the payment counter system used by cashiers.
Valu’s Chief Market Expansion and Strategy Officer, Habiba Naguib, said the deal supports Valu’s push to grow its merchant network and place financing options inside everyday shopping journeys.
Alshaya’s VP for Loyalty, Payments and Data, Francois Orhan, said the partnership is meant to make shopping more convenient and to support customers who want more choice in how they pay.
For retailers, offering instalment payments can lift conversion rates, increase average basket size, and reduce cart abandonment for higher-ticket items.
For consumers in Egypt, interest-free instalments can make discretionary spending easier to manage, especially when inflation pressure makes upfront payments harder.
The deal also shows how BNPL is becoming a standard checkout feature in North Africa, not just a fintech app. Partnerships like this embed credit directly into major retail brands, which can accelerate adoption of digital payments and alternative consumer finance in Egypt.
